Lorraine Sherr is a Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology at University College London where she is head of the Health Psychology Unit. She has worked for many years on issues of children, family and mental health. Professor Sherr is editor of three international journals – Vulnerable Children and Youth Studies, AIDSCare and Psychology Health and Medicine. She has conducted international research on child wellbeing, and participated in a number of international initiatives including chairing working groups for WHO, sitting on Strategic Advisory committees and Interagency Task Teams for global bodies such as UNICEF, Save the Children, USAID, AIDStar, Care, World Vision, and PEPFAR. Professor Sherr has published over 200 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to numerous texts and reports. She previously co-chaired the learning group on Family for the Global Learning Initiative on Children and AIDS.
