Peter Stalker is a writer and editor based in Oxford in the United Kingdom. He will be editing the Initiative's materials, and drafting the flagship report. A graduate of Oxford University, he has worked in the UK for Oxfam and New Internationalist magazine, and as a journalist in Latin America and in Asia and the Pacific. He has also written a number of books, including the Oxford Guide to Countries of the World as well as a series of books of international migration and on global finance.
Peter has been a writer and editor for numerous international reports on economic and social development. These have included the UNDP Human Development Reports and the series of progress reports on the Millennium Development Goals in Asia and the Pacific. He has edited several editions of the State of the World's Children and was writer for the 1995 Machel Report on the Impact of Armed Conflict on Children and a 2007 report for UN Secretary General: Children and the Millennium Development Goals. He has also written for UNICEF a number of reports at regional and country levels on the situation of women and children in Asia and the Pacific.
