Soumya Kapoor Mehta is a development economist with extensive experience across development agencies and the Government of India. She is co-author of several publications including the World Bank's global study on Moving out of Poverty and the recently released Basic Income: A Transformative Policy for India. Soumya has interest and analytical skills in the general areas of poverty, social exclusion, social protection, child poverty and social policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and a Masters in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
As Senior Research Fellow, Soumya is assisting the Know Violence in Childhood Secretariat and its co-Chairs with preparations for the forthcoming flagship report, and other learning materials and events.
